How to make and record your own music
– Arranging music, recording music, tips and tricks on mixing and mastering
Our latest single, Brown Quadrants, was released on March 14, 2025. It was recorded in our home studio with minimal adjustments made after the mixing was completed. Consequently, the mixing and mastering processes were kept to a minimum, despite the extensive theories on sound separation that utilize three key elements: panning left and right, separating frequencies with an equalizer, and positioning sounds in the foreground or background of the mix using reverb (Sound Positioning View).
Furthermore, we examined the arrangement (Arrangement view), focusing on how the song builds over time and whether there is a logical sequence— or perhaps a deliberate break from it.
For our upcoming song release titled “Romance”, you will find both the Arrangement view and the Sound Positioning view (which displays only two dimensions: frequency and left/right panning). I would be eager to hear your feedback: Can you identify what is represented on both graphs? Starting at the end of April, the expected release date for “Romance”, you can email me your feedback. You have a chance to win a T-shirt (please include your clothing size: S, M, L, XL, and specify male or female).
I look forward to hearing from you and you will get personal feedback !
